Turning again to their "Up Line" for help, the Distributor is told about this Wonderful Holy Grail of opportunity seekers, who are just waiting to be called so they can buy his opportunity.

These are Fresh, Hot, Exclusive, Local, Real Time Opportunity Seeker leads, (each additional adjective adds at least a dollar to the price!), who, at $1 to $5 each are supposedly sitting by their phones, waiting for the Distributor to call.

After spending anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars per month and countless hours dialing for dollars, the Distributor is not only discouraged, his forced enthusiasm finally faded, he is also broke!

Turns out the Holy Grail was filled with a bitter cocktail of bad numbers, answering machines, rude language and very few grateful recipients. THE END!

The average Distributor's odyssey typically spans 3-6 months. Eighty percent never sponsor anyone. Fully 99% never make a full time income.

The problem with many dogs nowadays is that they forget that a human is not just for Christmas, it is for life. Shortly after being born, many puppies (with the naivety and inexperience of youth, I must add) impulse buy a human. They seem to think that owning humans will be all play, forgetting that the first few months are the hardest and that theyll have to work like ahard worker.

This essential guide will help you through those first months and hopefully, provide all first-time people buyers with some invaluable insight into the bizarre workings of the human mind.

1. Entering the house. Once you walk into the house (an over-sized kennel), mark your territory immediately. Ideal locations for doing this include any expensive looking rugs or elderly relatives that are lying around. If the humans yell at you, do it again. It is important that you let them know who is boss.

2. Make yourself at home. Humans love home improvement, so try to add a bit of yourself to the house by altering the furniture. This is very easy to do, just nibble off the corner of a coffee table or scratch a door to pieces. Dont be afraid to use your imagination and try something new; my personal favourite is moving lots of human food from the inside of their fridge to the adjacent floor. When the humans discover your work, make sure you sit next to it and wag your tail so that they realise whom to accredit the alterations to. If they become over excited, mark your territory.

3. Avoiding danger. Shortly after you have settled in your new home, many humans will come to visit you. However, you need to be careful as you will inevitably encounter Children (mini humans; remember, the smaller the human, the more dangerous they are). Many children will insist on attacking you; theyll either rapidly tap you on the head or scratch your ear. This may be painful, or even just plain annoying, but please, please do not run away. Stay still (perhaps wag your tail as a sign of impatience) and pray that the mini-humans will lose interest. If you do attempt escape, the children will rapidly pursue you. Indeed, nature knows no worse predator than a determined mini-human. Upon cornering you, the children will awkwardly hoist you in the air and scratch/tap you some more. For emergency escape, mark your territory. The child will quickly abandon you. (This is not strictly true, the smallest mini-humans, the variety referred to as Bairns, Babies or Lil Tykes will probably mark their territory as well and then continue harassing you. Whimper to let them know that they have won and they will hopefully abandon you)

4. New Tricks: The older you get, the harder these are to learn, but humans will try to teach you certain performance pieces. They will often spend seven laborious hours with you (one in human time) getting you to act like them for various delicious rewards. Remember: the more you fail, the bigger the reward. It is imperative that you let the humans know that you will only perform for them if they pay you with treats. The famous actress Lassie infamously forgot this golden rule. Apparently, she started off performing tricks such as sit without edible rewards, and before long was rescuing mini-humans from mine shafts for little more than an affectionate pat on the head.

5. Exercise: Take your humans for walks regularly. Humans are notoriously lazy so will need much encouragement. When walking, you will have your humans on a lead (a cable designed to enable dogs to tow and guide their humans to various destinations). The humans will frequently pull on this lead and slow you down, but you must not let them walk at a normal pace; they will not get proper exercise if they go too slowly.

Once you are off the lead, you must protect your humans from any passing cats or cyclists. Furthermore, many humans suffer from acute amnesia in open spaces. Indeed, they very often drop a ball or a stick on the walk, which you have to return to them. Moments later, they will drop the object again. Make sure you are patient and bring the discarded object back to them each time, otherwise they will forget it.

When you return to the house, demonstrate that you realise that you are home by marking your territory.

6. Conversational English: Here are a collection of human phrases that you will find useful (do not repeat them, humans find it disturbing if their canine owners talk back to them in the same language).

Sit! - Take the weight off your feet and rest on your haunches.

Dinner! I have poured some dry, meat flavour biscuits into a bowl. Please try it. Din-dins!

Walkies!- Please take me outside.

Patience and Success in a Home Business

If ever I've been discouraged it's been while tying to create my own home based business. The idea is wonderful; create a business, make your own hours, spend time with your family, and make more money than you would by just siting behind a desk. I soon found just how hard it is to realize these dreams.

After doing plenty of market research, like any good business man would do, I found the perfect idea and perused the investigation. Making a decision that would affect my career and family was something I took very seriously; and if anyone ever finds the easy way to make such a decision, please let me know. My time was spent searching the internet, reading articles, and consulting friends, family, and colleague. Finally, I came to a conclusion that if I wanted to have more time with my family, a home based business, where the hours would be set by me, was the way to go.

Taking the plunge was hard. Nearly all of my money was wrapped up in the investment, not that I had much, but if it worked out I would have not only my family, but money to support them. My desires were not to make millions of dollars, thought that would have been perfectly fine, but to make sufficient for my needs to take care of my family and support a modestly comfortable lifestyle.

Some difficulties followed me in my new adventure in the world of home business. Patience is something to be admired in those that posses it. Like I said all of my money was tied up in my investment into the internet based home business I now looked to as my source of income. The cash flow didn't come as quick as I would have liked, and with bills and other pressures crowding in around me, the stress level increased dramatically. What could I do? Everything hinged upon the success of my business. Long nights on the computer and frustrating conversations with my wife were some of the results.

After a several weeks of this my business started to take off. I was making plenty of money to cover my bills. The stress about the successfulness of my new business venture had left and I found new joy with the amount of free time I now had to spend with my family.

The difference between success and failure are often steps that start out right next to each other. In many cases failure means disaster, whereas, success equals happiness. If a person wants to be successful (happy) he can't just sit around a hope it comes to him. You have to study things out, weight the possible out comes, then stick to the decision you've made and give it your best effort. Patiently hanging in there through the difficult start up stages and doing everything you can to get you business out there where people can find it will in most cases lead to your success as well.

We all have a different style when it comes to our relationship with money. I'm not talking about your fears or stories about money. Your fears are a whole other box of worms. When I refer to style, I mean how you would relate to money if you had never been influenced by another persons style or fears.

Dominant type of people are really driven to make money and use it to please themselves. They like to buy nice cars. They go after money and success with intense passion. When they set a money goal they know they'll get it. Once they get that money, they are reaching for more. They are generous with money but do not like people to take advantage of them. Competition is fun to them. Dominant styles think it is easy to make money and can't understand why everyone else doesn't think this way, too. They are willing to take risks and do not hesitate very long when making decisions about investments. When they desire a certain price on something they will negotiate down. Watch out, they may not bend. Give them the bottom line price up front and you'll save a lot of time and frustration for them and yourself!

Influencing and promoter type of people are excited to make and spend money. If the path to the money is not fun, they will take a right hand turn. When they are in the zone, they will seem to magnetize money in very interesting waysways that other people would doubt. They don't think before they buy. They see something they want and they usually go for it, even it breaks the bank. They make a plan but many times they completely forget about when a bright shiny object in a store window catches their eye. Details, details, yuck! Have you ever heard of the terms "shop-o-holic and impulsive"?

Steady and supporter type people like to be slow to their decisions. They will usually let their mate make investment decisions if they are a different style. They are very consistent with their practices and are not thrilled with big risksthey'd rather be patient and watch their money grow over time. Their purchases are more on the practical side.

Analytical type people are very calculated about what happens with their money. By the time they choose to do something, whether it's a purchase, creating a business or an investment, they have created a very thought out a plan. If the choice seemed like a risk before they did their research, it is now a safe bet. They've checked out all the possible down falls of their choice and have a back up plan. Spontaneous with their money? Not! If they are making a purchase, it will last them a long time.

Which style are you? None of these styles is better than another. Each of them does, however, have a shadow side. For instance, an analytical style might get in so much fear about losing their money that they never make a move or go after a dream. A promoter style might spend every penny they have with no money in savings. A dominant style may use their money as manipulative tool. A steady person may get stuck in a rut and fear change that is to their benefit. It is important to know your natural style and work with it, not against it. It is good to implement some traits from other styles, when you see that yours is hindering you. But always stick to your values, no matter what advice you get or read. Remember that everyone has their own style and what works for you may not be tolerable for your mate or business partner. This is where blending styles becomes important. Do What's Important Vs. Doing What's Urgent!

Many years ago, one of my brothers gave me a book on audio tape that I think was from the Day-Timer folks. I don't remember the title, but the basic theme was how to make better use of your times. One thing I do remember was a chapter on doing what's important not what's urgent.

Do what's important, not what's urgent.... What exactly does that mean? What's the difference? Aren't most things that are urgent also important? No, not necessarily. Most people reading this article lead busy, hectic lives. If you work and have children, especially young children, you know exactly what I'm talking about. You get up tired, work hard, go to bed late without doing everything you needed to get accomplished that day and you repeat the process day after day. You think on your feet, eat on the run, and plan your life using the "just in time" model. Most things come at you as urgent, with a "you've got to do this right now"

label attached (either literally or figuratively). It's easy to jump on problem after problem and soon you find that you've become a fire truck, putting out fires all the time.

How do you fix the things that start the fires? How do you do that when you feel like your life is a merry-go-round going 90 MPH and you're hanging on by your fingertips? You stop automatically responding to everything that's demanding your attention. You handle the important things first. You ask yourself, is this important? Will it be important a week, a month, a year from now? How will it affect my children? Will it put money in my pocket or take it away? Is it important to someone I care about? Will it make my marriage better or will it hurt my marriage? Will it make me healthier? The list goes on and on.

We're a society, both in our personal lives and in our businesses, that has instant gratification at the center of most decisions and activities. We should look farther down the road and try to see how decisions made today will have an impact on our future. Even decisions that may seem harmless can have drastic implications. For instance, I just did a quick search on Yahoo to find the average TV viewing time per person. I found one study that says according to the Total TV Audience Monitor (T-TAM), DVR (digital video recorder) owners watch an average of 29.25 hours of TV in a week. That's 1521 hours per year or 63 days. Two months of time wasted. Is that good or bad? I think its bad. How much happier we'd be, how much stronger our marriages and relationships with our children would be, how much healthier we'd be, how much smarter we'd be, if we turned off the TV. In many homes the TV is like a light bulb, it's on as soon as you come home and off when you go to bed. In some houses, there's a TV in every room of the house. Not all TV is bad, but for the most part it's a waste of time. If you leave it on while you're doing other things, then it's a distraction that you could do without.

It's my opinion that in addition to wasting time, most television programming chips away at moral values we desperately need to cling to and instill in our children.

Here's another example, the phone. Most of us have a home phone and a cell phone. If you're married, your spouse probably has a cell phone. If you have children, they may or may not have cell phones. That's a lot of phones! One nice thing about current phones is that they have caller ID. Usually you can tell who is calling. Well guess what, you don't HAVE to answer the phone when it rings. We've been programmed to think we must jump up and get the phone.

Why? True, sometimes it's important and before caller ID you really didn't have a way to know who was on the other end without answering the call, but now you do. It feels strange at first, almost a guilty feeling, when you know who's calling and you don't answer the phone. The phone is a device that yells out urgency when it rings, but you have the ability to only answer if it's important. If it's not important, don't answer it and return the call later, after you've finished whatever you were doing when the phone rang - but only if you want to.

When someone asks you to do something, or when you start to do something, even activities you've been doing all along, ask yourself is this urgent or is it important? Is there something that's more important that I could be doing, maybe something that's displaying a sense of urgency, but that is more important? You'll soon find it easy to say "no" to the urgent and "yes" to the important. And, you'll stop putting out fires all the time.

What can you do with the extra time? Spend it with your spouse and or your children, decide to learn something new such as how to make web sites, or build your future nest egg by learning how to make money on the Internet, or learn to play an instrument, or teach your children how to play an instrument, take singing lessons, plant a garden, visit a retirement center or a hospital... the list goes on forever.

Well if two different kinds of bird can do it why can't people do it? It was no time before my home business started taking off.

Have you ever tried to apply network marketing sales techniques to rid yourself of certain core personality traits that you felt were getting in your way of true network marketing success? You may have looked into network marketing self-improvement tools but, unfortunately, they involved ignoring your core personality traits. The point was to study the sales techniques of highly successful network marketers who had gone before you and put their techniques into action. If you practiced their sales techniques enough times, surely you would desensitize to the internal conflict you felt when approaching strangers with your network marketing opportunity.

ARE YOUR "DEFECTS" REALLY STRENGTHS?

Could the reason that my speech was so disempowered be because I was so uncomfortable about the sales techniques I was attempting? I would argue, "Yes! 1000 times Yes!"

The most asked question by my visitors is whether or not they need a website to make money online. Well, the short answer is no; you can still take advantage of PPC services like Adwords, for example, and send traffic directly to your merchants sales page without a website. But what were going to do now is reevaluate needing a website.

Websites are very helpful and can make you tons of money if done properly. So if someone were to ask that question again I would most likely say yes, you do need a website at some point to maximize your profits.

So lets get things started with

Rule#1: Your website should be very helpful to your visitors.

The reason why this is my first rule is so that you can have the right frame of mind when building your site from the very start.

Your website should not be built because you want fast money; it should be a reliable source of information that will help people solve their problems. People can see when you are trying to pitch a sale to them or when youre not being totally honest. When you rush to build a website, the quality will be significantly lower. Customers today are smarter than they ever were; so if you think you can fool them with a low quality website--with affiliate links and Adsense ads everywhere--you are only kidding yourself. If you gain your visitors trust, however, they will follow your recommendations because they trust you.

Please, no one page websites--those are usually short-lived. When building a website, remember to provide answers for your visitors problems.

Building quality content is must

Obviously if you are going to build a website yourself, you are going to need tons of quality content. A great way to start off is to go to some article submission sites. You will have access to thousands of quality articles you can use for your website instantly (just be sure to always include the authors resource box).

Content will be the most important aspect of your websites success; so you must make sure you get it right.

Rule #2: Use a reliable domain name and web host.

People obviously want to spend as little as possible; but if you get a website done using a free host, you can bet that people will know you are not that serious about your business. Not only will the quality be much lower than your competitors, free web hosts tend to be unreliable causing your website to suddenly crash; imagine losing all your work that took you a full year to buildit happens all the time and it has happened to me in the past; believe me, it is not a good feeling losing everything you worked so hard for.

Please do not make the fatal mistake of using a free hosts and free domains.

Rule #3: An eye-catching presentation.

Perception really is everything when it comes to websites. When visitors arrive at your site they will recognize your sites design before anything else. You can have the greatest content in the world, but if your web layout and presentation are not easy on the eyes, all your visitors will press the back button immediately due to poor site design.

I will show you the keys to a fabulous presentation:

A) Consistent design from page to page. Customers like dealing with things that they are familiar with. So be very consistent with your page design, colors, style of writing, AdSense ad placement etc.

B) Please make sure your visitors can easily find what theyre looking for. Your navigation should be seamless and easy to use. Your Navigation Bar should be in the same place on all your pages. This may seem like a small point but its absolutely vital to your websites success the last thing you will want to do is frustrate your visitors because they cant find exactly what they are looking for.

I have seen my profits shoot through the roof simply by making everything super-easy to find.

Even though your content is what wins your visitors over in the end, do not neglect having a good presentation; it is the first thing your visitors will notice. What you want to do is make visitors want to stay once that is done, then they can be wowed by your great content.

Rule #4: Connect with your visitors.

Visitors want to know who is behind the website. So you must have a way that they can contact you through email. Have a contact link where people can easily see it. When visitors know that there is actually someone working behind the scenes willing to answer questions, they will feel more comfortable with what you have to offer.

The benefits of email marketing

Using your opt-in list is what we call email marketing. When people opt-in to your list they are actually giving you permission to send them emails. The great thing about this is that its very easy to set up and its highly effective. You should have a monthly newsletter that provides customers with free, yet valuable information. It is important you do not hard sell in your newsletter though; the main job of a newsletter is to get people to your site. A newsletter should address a problem by providing a solution.

A great way to get people to sign up/opt-in to your newsletter is to give something of value away for free. When visitors believe they are getting something of value, they will sign up to your newsletter to receive the free gift. Just make sure what ever you are giving away is of high quality.

Using autoresponders

Another great way for you to connect with your visitors is to use an autoresponder. When people fill out your autoresponder forms, they will automatically receive a series of emails containing your prewritten content (for example, you can have your autoresponder set up to automatically send out 1 email a day for 7 days to anyone who fills out the forms).

You should use autoresponders to send out a series of sequential emails that are packed with quality information. I found this to work very well with all of my websites (as long as you present high-value content to your visitors). Autoresponders are highly effective because the sequential emails constantly remind your visitors that your site exist.

You are not maximizing your profits until you have an autoresponder in full effect. Your opt-in list will have some of your most loyal customers. If making money online has been your goal, you should definitely give autoresponders a shot.

Rule #5: Traffic is your websites lifeblood

You will need tons of traffic in order to make money with your website. But how does one go about getting traffic? Well, there are really only two ways to get traffic: SEO and PPC advertising.

Search engine optimization involves link exchanging, article submission, one-way back links, keyword density, submitting your site to major directories, 2nd tier directories, and niche hubs directories and so much more. Doing all of the aforementioned does take a lot of work, but the pay off is huge. After a while you will begin to see your sites keywords in the top 10 for the major search engines. This free traffic will allow your site and business to flourish. The good news about free search engine traffic is that it can last for years and years.

The other way to get traffic to your site is by using pay-per-click advertising. Unlike SEO, this kind of traffic comes instantly. The moment you set up a campaign, traffic starts pouring in to your site, giving you scalable results right away. I recommend using Google Adwords to get started with PPC advertising. Adwords will quickly allows you to see what works and what doesnt.

As effective as Adwords is, it still takes a little bit of figuring out. Many people lose money with PPC advertising because they simply dont know what they are doing. Whats worst is that they give up after a while. Adwords is too good to pass up; please learn as much as you can before startingit will make things much easier.
